Nonpartisan Office Candidate Filing - Summer 2026
Candidates for Office must meet the following requirements:
1. Be a citizen of the United States of America
2. Be a registered voter in Davidson County and reside in the jurisdictional limits of the office sought
3. Be at least 21 years of age on or before November 3, 2026 (Election Day)
Offices, Filing Dates, and Filing Fees
Davidson County Schools Board of Education (2 seats) (Filing Fee: $5)
Filing Opens:June 1, 2026 @ Noon
Filing Closes: July 31, 2026 @ Noon
Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor (2 seats) (Filing Fee: $5)
Filing Opens:June 8, 2026 @ Noon
Filing Closes: July 6, 2026 @ Noon
Handy Sanitary District Board of Supervisors (3 seats) (Filing Fee: $5)
Filing Opens: July 6, 2026 @ 8:00 AM
Filing Closes: July 17, 2026 @ Noon
Filing Fees over $50 must be paid by cashier's check, money order, personal check, or campaign check. Cash is accepted only when the filing fee is below $50 (exact change is appreciated). Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
Candidates may file in-person during the filing period at the Davidson County Board of Elections office located at 945 N. Main St., Suite A, Lexington, NC 27292 during business hours.
