Qualifications:
How Appointed:
Precinct officials can be recommended by the political parties and are appointed by the Davidson County Board of Elections for a two (2) year term beginning in August of odd numbered years.
Available Positions:
Training:
All officials are required to attend training sessions conducted by the county Board of Elections prior to each major primary and general election.
Compensation:
Precinct officials are compensated for their time spent in training and for working Election Day.
One-Stop poll workers are assigned to work at given one-stop locations for the two (2) week absentee voting period before Election Day.

North Carolina law (G.S. 163-42.1) allows students to be appointed to serve as student election assistants. These students must meet the following criteria:
No more than two student assistants may be assigned to one voting place. Each student assistant works under the direct supervision of the election judges and receives the same training and compensation as other assistants.
Anyone meeting the qualifications, should complete the application form and either mail, email, or hand-deliver the application to our office. In order to be considered, forms must have the proper authorizations and signatures.
Student Election Assistants are compensated at the same rates as the other Election Assistants.
